What is the Senior Fund?
Our chance to pay it forward.
Senior Fund is the College's Senior Class Gift Drive. By making a gift to the Senior Fund, you help to ensure that future Columbians will have access to the same outstanding resources and experiences you did during your time here - experiences that define life at Columbia.
Why should I give? I pay tuition.
Tuition doesn't cover it.
Over $20,000 per year of your Columbia education isn't covered by tuition, even if you don't receive financial aid. Your donation to the College Fund covers this gap for future classes at the College.
Where will the money go?
Where you want it to.
You can direct your gift to Financial Aid, Student Affairs, the Summer Internship Fund, the Core, or you can chose to make it unrestricted. Support something especially meaningful to you, or let the Dean decide where financial resources are most needed.
Does my gift make a difference?
Absolutely.
Senior Fund is about participation, and we are shooting for 93% of our class. Your gift is a measure of your satisfaction with and pride in Columbia. The success of the Senior Fund is used as an indicator of the College's health by Dean Moody-Adams, President Bollinger, and many others who speak to the school's major donors. Oh, and did we mention the Challenge? If we meet our participation goal, Charles Santoro CC '82 will donate $50,000 to our Senior Fund. Just one more reason why your participation makes a difference regardless of the size of your gift.
And what will I get?
More value from your degree and some pride too.
We've all heard of U.S. News and World Report. They rank Columbia and its Ivy peers each year on criteria that include alumni giving. Don't think we should be ranked behind Harvard, Yale, and Princeton? Neither do we. The higher Columbia is ranked, the higher the real value of the degree. It's that simple.
How do I give?
Up to you.
You can make a gift using cash or credit.
You can even use Flex.
